From the Blind to the Bench — Where Passion Meets Craft
My name is Corey, and like many of you, I live for the early mornings, cold water, and the sound of wings cutting through the sky. I've been an avid waterfowl hunter for years, and over time, I found myself wanting more out of the gear I depended on, especially my duck calls.
One day, while looking to upgrade my setup, I realized that high-quality, handmade calls came with a steep price tag. And being the kind of person who’d rather figure out how to build something myself than pay someone else to do it, I saw an opportunity. While on a trip, I came across some beautiful handmade calls in a store. That moment sparked something. I talked it over with my wife, and she gave me the green light to give it a shot.
What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. Through a lot of trial and error, long nights, and sawdust-covered mornings, I refined my craft. Since then, I’ve built and sold over 250 custom calls each one unique, just like the hunters who use them.
Along the way, I couldn’t ignore how overpriced waterfowl gear has become. It seems like every season, prices go up but the quality doesn’t always follow. I didn’t start Bain Custom Calls to get rich. I started it to bring something better to the table: honest, reliable gear that the working man, woman, and child can afford. Gear that earns its keep in the field not just on a showroom shelf.
Recently, I’ve expanded into making durable, functional hunting accessories designed to make life in the marsh easier and more convenient. Because out there in the elements, every piece of gear matters.
This isn’t just a business it’s a part of who I am. Every call, every piece, is made with the same grit and love that drives me back into the field season after season.
